Sticky Notes: Can I Change the Default Font?

Question:

Can I Change the Default Font that MS uses for the notes?

Answer:

The answer is always “YES”!

You can change the font, but only by corrupting your registry.

The secret is that Sticky Notes is hard-wired to use the “Segoe Print (TrueType)” font, an obscure font if ever there was one.

We can change the name of the file associated with that font and fool Sticky Notes into using that file.

The downside is that when you use “Segoe Print (TrueType)” in any other application, you’ll get “Algerian” or whatever you chose as a substitute.

(Don’t Blame me. Blame Microsoft!)

Try this:

(1) Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts

(2) Export that key so you have a backup.

(3) Find “Segoe Print (TrueType)”

(4) Change the file name of the font to that you wish to use.

(5) Reboot your computer for the change to take effect.
