Shift - To Select

By now you have mastered navigation ("go to" some place) with the keyboard.

Selection is disarmingly simple - just add the Shift key ("S" for Shift, "S" for Select).

If the Left-Arrow key moves the cursor one character or cell to the left, SHIFT-Left-Arrow SELECTS one character or cell to the left.

If Ctrl-Down-Arrow moves down one paragraph, then SHIFT-Ctrl-Down-Arrow SELECTS down one paragraph.

And if Ctrl-End takes you to the end of your document, SHIFT-Ctrl-End SELECTS to the end of your document.

To any movement keys, add the Shift key to Select text or data.
