Yes, we are Crazy!

Today brings news. “ The ski resorts stockpiling snow to resist global warming ”

Outside my home the snow and freezing rain swirls across the back yard, and I must soon don several layers of clothing and shovel a fifteen-inch wide path down my driveway. Life goes on as it does here.

Elsewhere in some of the coldest parts of the world, ski resorts are stockpiling snow.

Now I don’t think of Finland as being short of snow, but ski-resorts are worried about business dropping off if people can’t ski.

Which people? Who people?

Of course, I think of people who fly by jet for a week’s holiday skiing in Finland whose 5.6 million inhabitants are out-numbered by the populations in more temperate climes (about 9 Billion last time I looked).

I do not know how many Finnish residents walk to the ski slopes. My guess is “not many”.

So in the midst of a “global warming crisis” we have people burning energy (fossil fuel, wind or solar power) to fuel the entropy sink, and their hosts burning energy to power the equipment used to stockpile snow, not to mention manufacturing “ Finnfoam ”.

Which side are you on?
