Use the Quick Launch Bar
About the fastest way to get things going first thing in the morning, is the Quick Launch bar.
One click, not a double-click, launches the most commonly used applications you love.
Right-click on a vacant part of the bar at the bottom of your screen.
From the pop-up menu choose Toolbars.
Within that menu, make sure that "Quick Launch" is checked on.
You can now drag your favorite shortcuts to that left-hand region of the toolbar.
In the snapshot shown above you can see that my tiny icon (Please see " Smaller Caption Buttons ") for the FireFox browser is at the right-hand end of the quick launch toolbar.
You can drag the icons into sequence.
I have put my "dangerous" ones at the left – Shutdown, reboot and so on.
