CTRL-V To Paste the Selection
No matter what you are doing on the computer, Copy some text or a graphic image to the clipboard.
The selected text or image might be in a document or a spreadsheet, or even in the dialogue box that pops up when you choose File, save As.
It could be part of a web page that your are reading.
Then switch to your Word Processor, Spreadsheet Processor, Or Paint Editor and use CTRL-V to paste from the clipboard.
CTRL-V is faster than reaching for the mouse, and it will paste into a File Open text box even when the Edit Paste menu item is unavailable to you.
