Speedup - Windows Task Manager

When your machine drops into slug mode, use Task manager to see what’s going on.

I keep a shortcut to Task Manager on my Quick Launch toolbar.

In the trumped-up example above I have chosen the Processes tab and sorted by CPU activity in descending sequence.

Having just tapped “refresh” in FireFox, some 32% of the CPU is being used by FireFox, and the system idle process takes up the slack (62%)
