Speedup - Windows Indexing Service
I find the Windows Indexing Service to be inutile. It may just be me.
The idea was/is that the service uses spare computing resources when you’re not doing anything useful on the machine. My experience has been that it takes far too long to interrupt the Windows Indexing Service when I come back from a coffee break.
Furthermore, in the time I tried it, I was not convinced that it was significantly faster than my application of logic to the search. That is, most times I have a rough idea of when the file was created, what major folder tree it will be in:
