I had planned to burn brash this morning, but the wind is too strong at 30 Km/hr. I did tie up my tomatoes and was surprised to see fruits on the vines.

This month I want to burn as much aspen as I can, rotary hoe around the outside of the bed, and much of the inside of the bed. In-bed compost bins would claim as much as one-quarter of the space – perhaps too much.

As well I have plans to broaden the patch on Stephen's lot.

I started transplanting my second-generation cuttins at the southern end of the driveway bed.

I am thinking of planting pumpkins around the edge of my raised bed and training the vines to crawl across the grass.

I raked over the ashes, diverted a few twigs to the kitchen sink, assembled the logs.

At 1400 out to hose out the meat sauce, plant jades into jars, lop aspen tree tops.

In 30 of the 15 minutes I allowed to re-heat my lunch I set out five more 4-foot spaces for the second row of gooseberry shrubs, and came to the conclusion that I should dig up the next row and give away the shrubs. Sandra agreed to five shrubs so I loaded about thirty rooted cuttings and left them on her steps, with a runner-setter stick. Also a few dozen gooseberries that will fall off the cutting canes.

I dug up more potatoes, extracted three rhubarb clumps and stored them each in a bucket; burned the brash, and brought more house plants inside.

I believe that I have managed to regain my images missing from June-August and so can get back to building The Landfall Garden House Diary web pages.
