Torontoís City Garbage Dump
Back on Sunday 17th September I wrote yet again about the ugliness of Toronto.
Well, here we are, a monthly later, and someone has collected the cones that littered this stretch of Gerrard Street East at Yonge.
Was it my letter to the councilor (I doubt it) or perhaps some city employee new on the job and keen?
I do know that they didnít really look about them. These pylon bases have been sitting here for at least a year now.
So. Late October. I walk back past the Eaton Chelsea hotel with my morning paper.
Gone are the long lines of coaches waiting to take packed lunches to Niagara Falls, accompanied by tourists from Des Moines.
Indeed, gone are the long lines of red-and-white cones reserving space for eight or more coaches. Today there are enough cones only for one coach, or three taxicabs.
And look! While Iíve been away in Newfoundland, Bombardier has delivered at least one new but long overdue streetcar. We now have the new streetcars in service in College Street.
