Second Use For Everything (“SUFE")

When young students quite the apartments in the condominium across the street from me, stuff they don’t want to haul to Vancouver gets left in St Luke’s lane.

I grab it.

Last week I obtained two perfectly good desk lamps, with working bulbs.

Sigh.

These would usually be tossed into the maw of a garbage truck, crushed, and buried.

The Crane Game

I still play this game.

In this shot I am on the south-west corner of Yonge Street and Hillsdale Avenue (think “Yonge and Eglinton”)

I can see four cranes, and no, over to the left that is a crane and a concrete pump arm, not two cranes.

The jib of the fourth crane – a luffing crane – is visible in the distance behind the rightmost gantry crane.
