I had some glazed fruit left over from Christmas baking, so I baked myself a fruit cake. And ate it all by myself.

Why Toronto is not a world-class city

Another reason for adopting Fully-Funded Public Transit .

Herb Alexander makes the point about subsidies for public transit.

I have made a small table to house Herbís data. I have assumed that a full far in each city is $3.25. I have also assumed herb is speaking in Canadian Dollars.

I note with keen interest that in the data given by Herb, Mississauga and York Region come out very well. These two cities are geographically adjacent to Toronto. All three cities are in the same province (Ontario) and in the sane confederation (Canada).

It seems to me that Mississauga and York Region have better negotiating teams than Toronto. As well as better transit systems.

Lat week I had yet another example of why Mississauga Public Transit system is better than the Toronto Transit Commission: When I ride a GO train to Mississauga and then board a Mississauga bus, Mississauga transit charges me a reduced fare, eighty cents ( against $3.35, I think, for a full fare). When I ride a GO train to Toronto and then board a Toronto bus, the Toronto Transit Commission charges me a full fare.
