So I decided to visit the newspaper archives, basement level of the Toronto Reference Library and read about Toronto the week I landed.
You will appreciate that the first week in a new country, no matter how you read the newspapers, they donít make a lot of sense.
But I had used a microcomputer in Singapore.
In September 1982 a TRS-80 cost a mere $cdn6,000; I have no idea what that was in $us.
But at least it was marked down from $cdn7,600.
And unlike todayís cheap ($cdn300) microcomputers, it came loaded with 64 KB of RAM memory.
