My Internet Connection is Down

Possible Cause1:
If you have more than one computer hooked up to the internet, try that computer. If it has access to the internet, then your cable/phone connection is good. If it too does not have access to the internet, then maybe the problem is in your router/modem.
Possible Cause2:
Your modem/router has stalled. Turning the modem off and leaving it off for a full 60 seconds, then turning it on and waiting for a full 2 minutes may well fix the problem by resetting the modem
Possible Cause3:
Your connection from the phone or cable company is physically broken ("We cut the cable while digging a trench". Bear this in mind BEFORE you start reformatting your hard drive, reinstalling Windows etc. A quick phone call to your supplier (unless it is BELL) will provide you with some information. BELL however have a script that says "There is no problem; obviously you have changed something on your computer".
