At 10:30 I call Rogers at 1-888-764-3711. They have a maddening menu system on their phone, which ultimately diverst me to their web site. Since I am having trouble raising their web page, I plough into the phone menu system again with more success.
Sara investifgates remotely and tells me that my Dlink router might be the problem. She says that they download updates to the router. Who is “they” I ask. “They” is the Dlink people, not Rogers.
More research (at her end) revelas that I am losing 43 out of 50 packets.
I suspect that the test is to send/receive 50 packets and that in this particular instance seven get dropped. I have noted that the speed varies hour by hour.
Sara tells me that the earliest a technician can get here is Friday, but I will be out all day and evening Friday so we settle for Saturday 2pm-5pm. The case number is C284-013-83. I cancel my Saturday afternoon appointment.

The groups of test indicate that having the Dlink Router in;line makes no discernible difference to speed, so unless otherwise noted, the remainder of thes etests have the DLink router connected.

This test shows that, at times, Rogers can deleiver the throughoput they promise.

Sunday night and once again service is degraded.
An hour later the response is almost non-existent
Even direct from the new modem, with the Dlink router disconnected. This is running at about 1% (One percent!) of the speed available while the technician was here yesterday.
