The Tab Key Will Take You on a Guided Tour
Always.
Try this: No matter what application you are in right now (possibly your browser!) choose File, Open from the menu system (Alt-F, O for the professionals), and tap the TAB key over and over again.
Notice that the highlighting skips from one part of the dialog box to another, and is a carousel; you'll end up going around and around ...
You can use the Tab key to get from one place to another in almost any form or dialog box.
But a better use of TAB is as an exploratory tool; the dialog or GUI form designer marked specific areas of the form in a specific sequence, knowing that these areas were the most vital for most users.
It is a built-in guided tour to "important sites".
And thus it is a great way to learn in seconds what is important in the GUI form.
