You Can Always Escape from an Awkward Situation
From time to time you will find yourself "stuck" in some sort of dead-end.
Perhaps you have opened up (or been led into) a dialogue box or GUI form, and have no idea where to go ; you'd like to get back to a safe place.
Perhaps you have begun to select a menu item, by mouse or keyboard.
Perhaps everything just seems "stuck".
Try tapping the escape key, marked "Esc", top-left corner of your keyboard.
Nine times out of ten, this will back you out of a tight spot.
Why does this work?
The Escape key is commonly tied to the Cancel button of a dialogue box, and can be a fast and effective way of unloading the dialogue box.
