Fixing Problems
My MP3 files did not download through the Juice pod catcher. What went wrong?

My Juice screen shows two feeds; I expected to see only one. Two feeds might be confusing Juice?
I see “blogspot/HjLVP” and “blogspot/Torontopreneur”.

When I visit my FeedBurner dashboard, I see two feeds. This too doesn’t seem right.

The first feed shows one subscriber; this is probably me from yesterday.

The second feed shows 8 subscribers; this is probably my long-running blog.

The first feed is the weirdly-name “HjLVP” feed. I should delete it.

I delete the first 1-subscriber feed.

Now my dashboard shows only one feed; this is good.

I remove the “HjLVP” feed from the Juice pod catcher.

Let’s examine the FeedBulletin

FeedBurner somehow knows about me and Juice!
I choose the Subscribe Now button, just in case it makes a difference, scoot back to Juice, but no, no downloads take place.

The Feed Validator gives me too much information. (I trimmed the screenshot, but in essence it is the html code from a long page containing several posts all highlighted in yellow)
The bit about “atomlink” rings a bell. I recall from somewhere that there is “atom” and then there is ‘RSS”, and one is supposedly more appropriate than the other.

Back in my blog I see html code related to the “HjLVP” feed; that can’t be right now. The code is assigned to the Subscribe button.
It is worth pointing out that there are TWO aspects to FeedBurner use. I want to set things up so that people who subscribe will receive my podcasts, and I want to set up the mechanism by which people subscribe. This button is the second area.
I resolve to delete the gadget.

The gadget is gone.

Back in FeedBurner I see details for “Original Feed” and “Feed Address”.
I have a sneaking suspicion that I’d like them better if they were called “Source” and “Target”.

A little more prowling and I discover that “SmartCast” is not turned on, and SmartCast refers to podcasts.
Hmmmm!

I thought I did all this yesterday in Create a Blogger Feed ; indeed I know I did.
Maybe it was done for the “HjLVP” feed and not my Torontopreneur feed?

I complete the form and puzzle over the disclaimer notice at the foot of the screen. Should I activate?

I decide to activate; what have I got to lose?

SUCCESS! Back in Juice something begins to flow. One of my two MP3 files is being downloaded as we speak.

And for proof here is the MP3 file in my “Talks” folder on my hard drive.

Now for the user-friendly subscription gadget.
In the Publicize tab I select Chicklet Chooser and go for the large familiar orange button.

Down at the foot of the screen I see the html code (which I past as a contingency into a file “WidgetCode.txt”, just-in-case.
Nowadays web services know more than I about what/where to do stuff, so I put my trust in choosing “Blogger” from the drop-down list and then GO!

Ta-da! I am thrust into Blogger and am invited to add a Widget ( synonymous with Gadget et al.)

I learn that the ‘subscribe Now” gadget has been added, and there it is, so I will View the blog.

Double Ta-da!.
Now I need a volunteer to subscribe to a reader and let me know that the podcasts are received.
