The Stand-Alone Solution
Here is the processing logic for the stand-alone solution. You could implement this if you have only one computer, or you could implement this on each computer in your network, pretending that they weren’t networked.
In the latter case, you could use a separate external drive for each computer, or move the external drive from one computer to another.
Wait until the backup drive is mounted and available.
Process (Robocopy) each local drive on this computer
Append local details to the log file
Dismount the backup drive
Shut down the computer
