RoboCopy Parameter Files
You can skip this section for now. It shows how to provide RobCopy with more parameters than can be fitted on a single command line.
A quick glance will show you my /Subdirectory, /Retry and /WaitTime switches.
You’ll see too that I instruct RoboCopy to ignore specific folders and files which I know, absolutely, are useless.
(I save throw-awy files with names like “eraseme” and “eraseme2”, so any file that starts with “eras” is not a candidate for backup).
I urge you NOT to ignore specific folders and files unless you are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that you can get away with not backing them up.
Remember that RoboCopy will copy (in our mode), only files with a later date than existing files, so you won’t be copying your entire machine every night!
