Mounting A Shared Drive For Sharing

We make a modification to our Mount.bat DOS Batch file so that the mounted encrypted drive can be seen across the network

Mount.BAT

TITLE %0 Mount an encrypted drive
if not exist X: "C:\Program Files\TrueCrypt\TrueCrypt.exe" /q /lX /v\Device\Harddisk1\Partition1
net share X=X:\
if not exist Y: "C:\Program Files\TrueCrypt\TrueCrypt.exe" /q /lY /v\Device\Harddisk2\Partition1
net share Y=Y:\
REM End

The “net share” command assigns a string name to a folder.

I have chosen to use a single-letter string “X” to identify the root folder of my backup device which is known to the LapTop as “X:”

On the Big Beige Box we will be able to refer to this backup drive as \\Lap\X, and note that it is “X”, not “X:”

Likewise we can refer to \\Lap\Y for the second external drive.
