Encryption And Off-Site Backup Storage
These notes are a journal of discovery. The end-user documentation can be obtained from my Digital Download Store.
My office is on the ground floor with three networked computers. I am worried about break-ins. The loss of my data would be stunning. Loss of client confidence might destroy my business. What can you tell me about encryption and off-site backup storage?
Quite a bit, over the next few pages.
The good news? You can implement this scheme yourself for about $100 per machine, maybe less by the time you read this.
You need very little in the way of technical expertise.
These notes are a step-by-step journey to achieving a sensible solution to the problem of loss of data.
You can read them serially, one article at a time, or you can skip directly to the solution. As much as possible I’ll isolate the task into digestible chunks.
And yes, I know this isn’t a solution in VBA. It’s better than that!
(This is going to be fun for me; possibly the first time in my life that I haven’t felt it necessary to issue The Customary Warning: “Back Up All Your Files Before You Try This”).
